Welcome to the Cataloging Discussiong Group
As we get ready for ALA Midwinter in Denver, I have setup this blog to serve as a communications tool for librarians, especially catalogers, reference librarians, and subject specialists who are interested in helping libraries improve access to Africana materials in all formats.
Who am I?
My Name is Elaine L. Westbrooks. Since August 2008, I've been an Associate Dean of Libraries at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Prior to this position, I was the Head of Metadata Services at Cornell University Libraries where I was lucky enough to work with folks such as Diane Hillmann, Karen Calhoun, and Adam Chandler, and Tom Weissinger. I began my career in librarianship as a Latin American Cataloger at the University of Pittsburgh in 1999.
Most anyone can post to this blog. You do not need to be a member of AFAS-- but you should be a member of ACRL-- your comments, suggestions, or questions are welcome.
